Although Castro County has received some much-needed rainfall, we are still in need of additional soaking rains to keep the burn ban lifted. Please continue to pray that we receive the moisture our county needs.
'OOMPAH' SOUND-- The Havlak “oompah” Polka Band was brought in from Rowena, Texas to perform at the first couple of Nazareth German Festivals in 1973 and 1974 and stirred the crowd in attendance to dance.

The big Nazareth German Festival, none the wurst for wear, marks its 53rd observance Saturday, July 11 with a full day of activities at the Nazareth Community Hall and in the heart of the village.
Rhoads Memorial Library is the site of five pop-up banners recalling historic moments in Texas history. The display is provided by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission in time for the 250th anniversary of the United States.
