Man sentenced to 60 years after scalding baby

A Lubbock jury sentenced 34-year-old Ruben Castillo Jr.to 60 years in prison for causing severe injury to a baby.Castillo was charged with scalding a 19-month-old baby with water in a sink.

Hegar distributes $1.2B in sale tax revenue

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar sent cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.2 billion in local sales tax allocations for November, 1.1 percent more than in November 2023.
