CCH Health Fair set for this Friday

Castro County Health will be holding its annual health fair on Friday and will offer many services.To be held at the Castro County Expo Building from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., there will be food trucks, a bounce house, face painting, door prizes and many other activities.

Safety inspection change in January

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reminds Texans that changes to the state’s Vehicle Safety Inspection Program – which eliminate most vehicle safety inspections – begin on Jan. 1, 2025.These changes are due to House Bill 3297.

Abbott offers $10K reward in shooting of police chief

Governor Greg Abbott announced a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and capture of the suspect involved in the shooting of Memphis Police Chief Rex Plant, in addition to a F.B.I. reward of $5,000.

The Dimmitt Volunteer Fire Department was on the receiving end of another big donation from the Pink Ladies of Dimmitt following a successful benefit on Sept.28. The event was held at Dimmitt Recreation.

Xcel files for $53M customer refund

Xcel Energy submitted a proposal to refund $53.3 million in fuel costs to Texas customers that will result in a one-time credit against electricity charges during the December billing cycle.

Rivera will continue to serve on the PRPC Executive Board.
