State sales tax revenue down in January

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced that the state sales tax revenue totaled $4.02 billion in January, 2 percent less than in January 2023. The majority of January sales tax revenue is based on sales made in December and remitted to the agency in January.

Robotics teams eye regionals

Castro County robotics teams had a great day competing at the FiTW& P Amarillo League Championship, with five teams from Nazareth, Dimmitt and Hart qualifying to move on regional competition.

Bobcats best Chieftains

The Dimmitt Bobcats claimed a win over the Friona Chieftans, 56-49. The Bobcats started off strong in the first quarter, taking the lead 14-6 and extending the lead in the second quarter to end the first half, 25-12.
