County stock shows kick off Jan. 10

With January comes the annual Nazareth Stock Show and Castro County Livestock Show which will kick off on Wednesday, Jan. 10 and run through Jan. 13. Nazareth FFA and 4-H youth will be exhibiting livestock at the Naz show on Wednesday beginning at 5 p.m.

Texas has 30 new laws in effect

Thirty new laws passed by the Texas Legislature took effect as the New Year rolled in. From property tax relief and franchise exemptions, E-cigarettes, and disbanding DEI offices, and identifying at-risk children, Texans will see some changes. Details of each new law can be found at capitol.texas.

Bobbies defeated by Lady Cats

The Bobbies fell to the Littlefi eld Lady Cats, 54-32. Littlefield offense took charge in the first quarter and gained a six-point lead and continue widening the gap in the second quarter to close the first half out ahead 28-13.
