DHS honors athletes at banquet

Dimmitt High School held its Athletic Awards Banquet this last Tuesday to honor Bobbies and Bobcats athletes and managers in cross country, volleyball, football, basketball, baseball, softball, track and field, golf and tennis.

Lubbock firefighters extinguish blaze at Shearer’s

Production was halted at Shearer’s Foods after a large fire burned parts of the facility for an hour on Monday morning. Lubbock Rescue firefighters were called to the food plant near 34th and Ave. B just before 8:45 a.m.

The Dimmitt Middle School robotics team (above) compete at Texas Tech GEAR Tournament on April 6. The tournament is held annually and open to students in grades K-8 from all schools sponsored by a teacher or coach.

Swifts clench quarterfinals title

The Nazareth Swifts won both of the Regional quarterfi nals games against Borden County Coyotes with two big victories - 15-3 and 11-1. The games were played at Sundown High School this past Thursday and Friday.
