Sheriff states no issue with racial profiling in 2022 report

Sheriff Sal Rivera met with the Castro County Commissioners Court on Jan. 9, to present the Castro County Sheriff’s Office Racial Profiling Report for 2022.
Rivera stated that his office and deputies did not practice racial profiling and was confident that the report confi rmed that.

Dimmitt FFA Sawyer Lunsford kicked off the new year by competing at the Sandhills Stockshow and Rodeo in Odessa. Sawyer won the light weight class with a Horned Hereford weighing in at 1069 pounds and made the sale.

Bobbies 2-2 in Caprock Classic

The Dimmitt Bobbies competed in the 2022 Caprock Classic Basketball Tourney in Lubbock this past week, the largest holiday tournament in the United States. Teams from more than 100 states and foreign countries arrived to participate.

Bobcats lose to Wildcats

The Dimmitt Bobcats were edged out by the Idalou Wildcats on Tuesday, 43-40.
The Bobcats got off to slow shooting start in the first half scoring six points in the first quarter and seven in the second, giving the Wildcats a lead of 21-13 as the first half ended.

Swiftettes compete at Whatburger tourney

The Nazareth Swiftettes competed in the 65th Whataburger Basketball Tournament in the Blue division this past week in the Ft. Worth area.
The tourney is the premier Texas high school holiday tournament and one of the nation’s top five high school holiday basketball tournaments.

Lubbock man arrested for social media comments
