Lubbock woman beaten, stabbed, set on fire

A Lubbock man was arrested and taken into custody by the Lubbock Police Department following a house fire that left one person critically injured. LPD identified the suspect as Ynez Spencer, 27.

DISD trustees set new tax rate

Hegar transfers $7.3B to SFH, Rainy Day Funds

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced today he has completed the transfer of about $7.3 billion into the State Highway Fund (SHF) and the Economic Stabilization Fund (ESF; commonly known as the “Rainy Day Fund”). Each fund received nearly $3.64 billion, or 50 percent of the total transfer.
