DHS Julie Santana and Xitlalic Villarreal toured the Texas Tech campus as Dimmitt’s WTAMU Upward Bound ambassadors. Dimmitt and Tulia ambassadors attended the tour on Feb. 28. Upward Bound is a college prep program for first-generation/low-income students.

Instructors from the Texas Parks & Wildlife will be teaching a Hunter Education Course on April 9. The course is designed for novice or young hunters ages 9 years and above. The course covers the core competencies of firearm and hunting safety, hunting ethics and wildlife conservation.

Bobbies win THSWPA regionals

The Dimmitt Bobbies Powerlifting team won the Texas High School Womens Powerlifting Association Regional 3AS team honors and will have four lifters advancing to the THSWPA state championships. The regional meet was held in Shamrock this past weekend.
