County powerlifters strong at Levelland meet

The Dimmitt Bobbies came with a solid performance at the Levelland Powerlifting Meet this past Saturday, placing second out of 16 schools. Sandra Vasquez, junior, placed first in the 132-weight class; and Na’khiyah Porras placed first in the 220-weight class.

Dairy MAX scholarship applications now open

Dairy MAX is committed to strengthening agriculture and sustaining a viable future for dairy farming and will be continuing its scholarship program which supports local dairy farm families. Three $2,500 academic scholarships will be awarded this spring.

DHS Band percussionist Paden Mick

DHS Band percussionist Paden Mick participated in the UIL Region 1 Solo & Ensemble contest on Saturday, Feb. 5, at WTAMU. Paden earned a 1st Division Superior rating on his performance, certifying him to compete in the Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest in May.

Naz FFA seniors Landry Kleman and Jaycee Pigg competed in the Junior Pitmaster Challenge at the San Antonio Stock Show. Teams were judged on the BBQ cooking skills for a chance to win a scholarship.

Governor Greg Abbott today announced that USA BioEnergy, through its subsidiary Texas Renewable Funds (TRF), will build a new $1.7 billion advanced biorefinery in Bon Wier, Texas.

Deadline Extended to Enroll in 2022 Dairy Margin Coverage

The USDA has extended the deadline to enroll in Dairy Margin Coverage (DMC) and Supplemental Dairy Margin Coverage (SDMC) for program year 2022. The deadline to apply for 2022 coverage is now March 25.
