Special legislative session convened

A Special Session of the Texas Legislature convened on Sept. 20 following a proclamation by Governor Greg Abbott earlier in September. The proclamation identifies five agenda items for the third Special Session.

Unemployment drops in several states

Unemployment rates were lower in August in 15 states and the District of Columbia and stable in 35 states, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Texas was among the three states having the largest job increases at +681,000.
