Dimmitt and Hart high schools attended the Borger Cross Country Invitational this past weekend against some solid competition.

Bobcats defeat Mustangs, 14-6

The Dimmitt Bobcats won their game against the Olton Mustangs, 14-6 this past Friday. The Bobcats lost the first game to the Littlefield Wildcats last week, giving them a 1- 1 record thus far.

Big 12 conference pushes toward expansion

The Big 12 is moving forward on an expansion plan that could have the conference at 12 schools following the announcement that Texas and Oklahoma were leaving.

Spaghetti Supper to benefit DHS senior class

There will be a Spaghetti Supper on Sept. 17 before the homecoming football game. Proceeds from the meal will benefit the DHS Senior Class of 2022. It will be held from 5 to 6:30 at the DHS Cafeteria. The meal includes bread, tea or water and cobbler.

Amarillo Symphony to perform outdoor concert

The Amarillo Symphony will be performing an outdoor concert at Hodgetown in Amarillo on Sept. 25. The gates open at 6 p.m. and the concert begins at 7 p.m.

Caution, Stop and Go

What’s your honest opinion? Do red lights interfere with your schedule? My husband doesn’t like sitting at big city red lights. They take so long to change. Personally, I prefer red lights over 4-way stop signs. Red lights take the guess work out of stopping and proceeding into traffic.
