Swiftettes fall to Sandstorms, 67-45

The Nazareth Swiftettes fell to Amarillo Golden Sandstorms, 67-45, in one of their first games this year. As is tradition at Nazareth, a 1A school, the Swiftettes took on a large school early in the season. Amarillo is a 5A school.

Swiftettes snag Region 1 XC Championship

The Nazareth Swifts and Swiftettes competed at the 1A Region 1 Cross Country Championships on Monday, with the girls bringing home top honors and advancing to the state meet.

DHS XC competes at Region 1 Championship

The Bobcats ran in a field of 136 athletes from 15 schools in their 3-mile contest at the UIL 3A Region 2 Cross Country Championship held at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock on Monday. DHS junior Jordan Garcia qualified again for the State Cross Country Meet, running 17th with a time of 18:17.70.

Hart XC competes at Regionals

Hart Ladyhorns and Longhorns cross county athletes competed in the UIL 1A Region 1 Championships on Monday at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock.

I try to not say what I always think, but at times I think that rule needs to be modified. I have read numerous posts and heard a variety of points of view regarding the quarantine, but I am going to voice something as a mother, friend, or aunt that is touched by COVID-19.

Fishing With Father

Fishing with my father was a religious experience. In fact, he said he felt closer to God while fishing than he did while sitting in church. I guess that was a good excuse as any to skip church on Sundays. But dad wasn't alone.
