The Lady Whitefaces won the Silver Bracket of the Frenship Tournament last weekend. This week the team hosted Vega last night and play at Bushland Saturday.

HERD PLAYERS OF THE GAME

Last week a Hereford ISD family lost their home and belongings in a fire. The Hereford community response to help the family was overwhelming. Clothes, furniture, household items, monetary donations and so much more came pouring in from people who simply wanted to help a family in need. After practice last week, Herd football players and coaches stepped in to help with the next part. They loaded up the donated items, delivered them to the family and helped set everything up in their home. Thanks guys!

Hereford High School’s cross country athletes had a great weekend of competition at the Clovis meet. The varsity girls placed fourth as a team while the varsity boys came in third place. Top individuals included Mark Reyes - 3rd Place and Gabby Gonzalez - 9th Place Individual. This morning the teams hosted the Hereford Cross Country meet.

Lady Whiteface Teagan Thomas earned her 500th volleyball kill last weekend in the Farmersville Tournament. On Thursday, Aug. 20 the Lady Whitefaces topped Pleasant Grove, Gunter and Central Heights. Friday, Aug. 21 the Lady Herd beat Canton and Clyde but lost to Springtown. Their impressive first two days in the tournament placed them in the Gold Bracket for Saturday where they lost to Van Alstyne and Springtown. This week Hereford traveled to Midland Lee and then play in the Frenship Tournament Aug. 28-29.

The Herd earned its first district tennis win Saturday by defeating the Dumas Demons 18-1, The team showed up early with one goal in mind: get a dominant win against Dumas. Coaches praised Natalie Hernandez for clinching the 10th win with her strong 6-4, 6-2 victory in singles, and to all of tennis athletes outside of the counting lineup who went out and won every single match.
