Metamorphosis in the classroom and emergent on the trout stream
EMERGING UNDERSTANDING-- The author was recently pondering bugs and emergers and metamorphosis while walking the dog, but in the context of streamside and instream insects emerging to be feasted upon by hard feeding trout, and the frantic efforts of anglers to match the hatch, not about a man transforming into an insect.
In my junior or perhaps senior year at West Texas State University, way long ago, I was enrolled in an English class that examined novellas and short stories at the two extremes of likability in my humble scholastic opinion.
Can’t remember the instructor’s name now, but he inadvertently had a hand in directing me toward outdoor writing among other pursuits.
