Governor Greg Abbott announced a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and capture of the suspect involved in the shooting of Memphis Police Chief Rex Plant, in addition to a F.B.I. reward of $5,000.
The Pink Ladies did it again and broke their own DVFD donation record, raising $20,400 for the fired department. The check was presented to members of the DVFD. Winner of the Raffle was Martha Ibarra; Bean contest, Martha Richardson; and Salsa Contest, Rubi Gonzalez.

Xcel files for $53M customer refund

Xcel Energy submitted a proposal to refund $53.3 million in fuel costs to Texas customers that will result in a one-time credit against electricity charges during the December billing cycle.
As one of his last duties as PRPC Chairman of the Board of Directors, Castro County Sal Rivera presented former Dimmitt city manager BJ Potts (now Tulia city manager) with the Beelee Goodwin Award at the 2024 PRPC Annual Meeting and Banquet held at the First Responders Academyon Sept. 26 in Amarillo. Rivera will continue to serve on the PRPC Executive Board.
