Naz Robotics performs well at League Meet 3

The Nazareth Robotics teams competed at the FiTW& P Amarillo League Meet 3 at Bushland High School on Jan. 13 and, once again, did very well. Robert O’Connor, Nazareth robotics coach, said he was very proud of his teams, who came through with a second, third and 12th at the meet.

Unemployment rates were higher in December in 15 states, lower in 1 state, and stable in 34 states and the District of Columbia, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported, with Texas leading the nation in job gains. Governor Greg Abbott celebrated Texas being the top state during 2023.

That was some blizzard we survived last week, along with the long-lasting, sub-freezing temperatures afterward. Since we are always closed on Mondays here at Rhoads Memorial Library, we missed the brunt of the storm as we stayed home. The day after the blizzard, we opened one hour later at 10 a.m.

Winter weather woes

Admittedly, (like most) I am fond of the change of seasons. Well, that is except for winter. That, I dread. For the life of me, I don’t know how I managed as a New Yorker. I once built snow men; made snow angels, went sledding and ice skated on the Erie Canal.
