Sheriff's Office Notice

The Castro County Sheriff"s Office will open it's lobby as a warming station starting Saturday January 13, 2024 at 6 p.m. until Tuesday January 16, 2024 7 a.m. due to the Arctic air invading our area. There will be coffee, hot chocolate and water available.

Xcel regional grid ready for cold weather

Xcel Energy issued a press release stating it is prepared for winter blasts in Texas and New Mexico. The company also reminded customers of ways to maintain a high level of comfort, save money and stay informed in the event of a power outage.
