Hegar distributes $1.3B to local governments

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced today he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.3 billion in local sales tax allocations for February, 9.3 percent more than in February 2022. Castro County received $24,506, up by 12.03% from last year.

Gov. Greg Abbott said that he would back legislation banning transgender student athletes from competing on a collegiate level on teams that match their gender identity.
The Nazareth FFA Horse Judging was named the Champion team at the San Antonio Stock Show competing with 127 teams and 432 individuals. Members of the team are Charly Mask, who placed third overall, Tell Bagley, 17th, Kamre Mask and Will Young.
