Dallas suffers severe flooding

Governor Greg Abbott declared a state of disaster in Dallas County after a day of deadly rainfall. After severely dry summer, the sudden rainfall early Monday morning made it the second-wettest August on record early Monday morning.

Naz Labor Day Picnic, Sept. 4

The Holy Family Church in Nazareth has scheduled the annual Labor Day Picnic for Sept. 4. A parade will get things underway at 10 a.m. with a theme “Celebrating God’s Goodness.” A roast beef dinner lunch will follow from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Adults, $12, and children 10 and under, $6.

DISD approves admin recommendations

Several administrative recommendations were approved at the Dimmitt ISD board of trustees meeting on Monday. The board approved an additional cost for Lakeshore IT technology equipment. Mike Huseman was on-hand to provide information and explain the additional costs.
