Burn Ban citations issued

Fires are still plaguing Castro County as people fail to secure vehicles or ignore the ongoing Burn Ban. According to Sal Rivera, there were two fires on April 21 due to people burning trash in barrels or in their incinerators.

April sales tax revenue at $3.8B

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar Monday said state sales tax revenue totaled $3.83 billion in April, 12.8 percent more than in April 2021. The majority of April sales tax revenue is based on sales made in March and remitted to the agency in April.

Castro County 4-Hers compete at District 2 contests

Castro County 4-H Club horse judging teams attended the District 2 Horse Judging Contest at WTAMU on April 22 Ṫhe club had eight juniors on two teams competing. Team #1 placed second overall (2nd in placings and 3rd in reasons).
