Benjamin Birdwell, 35 of Dimmitt, was arrested by the Sheriff’s Office for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Nazareth FFA Chapter was well represented at the Plainview District FFA banquet. The group earned lots of banners to hang in the shop. Chloe Birkenfeld was elected as the Vice President for the 21-22 year and Naz talent came in runner up.
Starting Wednesday, Dec. 8, the Panhandle region of Texas is facing extreme fire danger days.
With strong winds sustaining at 30-40 mph and gusts of 50 mph, dry and heavy fuel loading, and drought; this all adds to an extreme fire environment for the Texas Panhandle.
The suspect in the April 2018 murder of Mysti Amber Goddard of Amarillo, pleaded guilty to the charge of murder this past week in the 242nd District Court, according to a press release by Sheriff Sal Rivera.
Texas Comptroller Glen Hagar distributed $936 million in monthly sales tax allocations
Allocations include cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts for local sales tax for December bases on sales in October by businesses that report tax monthly.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) opened signup for the Dairy Margin Coverage (DMC) program and expanded the program to allow dairy producers to better protect their operations by enrolling supplemental production.
This signup period – which runs from Dec. 13 to Feb.
The Dimmitt Lions Club presented a check to Hands of Hope for $6,000 from proceeds from the Annual Beef Appreciation Promotion. Janet Samman and Kristina Holcomb accepted the check on behalf of Hands of Hope.
The 22nd Nazareth Christmas Pageant will be staged Dec. 19-20, at 7:30 p.m. in Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth.
Pageant tradition makes Holy Family Church the place to intimately know Christmas and all its meaning through a story told with lavish costuming, lighting and music.
Drought conditions are worsening in the Texas Panhandle and South Plains regions, including Castro and other surround counties.
Castro County is now in the Severe Drought (D2) stage, according to the most recent Drought Monitor map on Dec. 7.
