In light of the cancellation of the Veterans Day Parade in Austin due to stringent COVID-19 regulations put in place by the City of Austin, Governor Greg Abbott today invited veterans with the Austin Veterans Parade Foundation to host a rally on the south steps of the Texas State Capitol.

The latest edition of an educational Playa Field Day staged by Ogallala Commons (www.ogallalacommons.org) will travel to Silverton on Tuesday, Nov. 16 with a program that will focus not only on playa conservation, but on how playas can impact municipal water supplies in small rural communities.

Twenty-seven Nazareth FFA Chapter members competed in 15 different events at the District LDE contests in Abernathy on Tuesday. Several teams and individual will advance to the Area competition.

USPS delays may harm rural areas

On Oct. 1, the USPS began delaying shipments of firstclass mail, including letters, bills, and tax documents. The changes mean that most deliveries that normally took three days now take upwards of five days.

Naz takes top honors at robotics meet

Area high school robotics teams got the 2021 TX W&P season underway at the North League Meet # 1 at the Boys & Girls Club of Vernon this past weekend. Nazareth robotics teams kicked off their season with a strong start by taking 1st and 5th place in the district/league.
