Kathryn Coulter King Gault 1934-2026
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Kathryn Coulter King Gault, who left us on September 16, 2026, at the age of 92. In 1934, Kathryn was born in Lincoln County, North Carolina to Katie and Rodney King.
She moved to Deaf Smith County, Texas in 1959, where she was active in the community and the Presbyterian Church. She married Cameron Gault on June 18, 1961.
Kathryn was a long time member of L’Allegra study club and a Board Member of Deaf Smith County Historical society. Kathryn owned and operated Kid’s Alley, a children’s clothing store in Hereford, Texas, for a number of years. She has a strong passion for traveling throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cameron Gault, her father, Rodney King, her mother, Katie King, and her brother, David King.
She is survived by her son, Drue Gault; three grandsons, Jacob (Carly), Brett (Emily), and Vance; brother, James King of Charlotte, NC; great-grandchildren, Wells and Henry; a niece and 2 nephews; and many other loving family members.
The family kindly suggests memorial donations be made, in honor of Kathryn, to the American Cancer Society.
As we reflect on the life of Kathryn, we are reminded of her legacy of love, generosity, and unwavering support. She will be deeply missed but eternally cherished in the hearts of all who knew her. May her memory be a blessing and her spirit continue to inspire those she touched.
