Here at Rhoads Memorial Library, we join everyone in rejoicing that temperatures are cooling and some much needed rain has fallen. As our precipitation chances increase, perhaps you need to be prepared to spend time indoors with a good book.

National Hispanic Heritage Month 2026 is currently being observed and is the focus of Rhoads Memorial Library’s display for September and October. The observance was created in 1968 for the purpose of honoring the history, culture, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans.

The mission statement of most libraries, including Rhoads Memorial Library, is to “foster a lifelong love of reading and learning.” One of the best examples of promoting that ideal is the Imagination Library, which was created 31 years ago by the late singer-songwriter Dolly Parton.

New books are arriving here at Rhoads Memorial Library with increased frequency. We have spent months suffering from slow arrivals of newly-released books after our main supplier went out of business late last year.
