Houston, we have a problem. The World Health Organization is attempting to take over our country by making “their advice” mandatory. The final report of the International Health Regulations Review committee regarding the proposed amendments to the regulation is now out.

Finding a profession

I’m jealous of people who find their life’s work early. For some, the discovery starts in elementary school. Ray was a very likeable, outgoing guy. He got along well with everybody, including the teachers. The rest of us tried to stay under a teacher’s radar, praying they would not call on us.

According to Michelle Cordero of Heritage, the economy is getting worse. I have to agree with her assessment. Even as the Biden administration continues to say otherwise, things are not getting better.

OPINION

Accountability. We hear about how we should be accountable for our actions. What about our elected officials? They make promises all through campaigns and tout how “they” can do the job better than such and such. Then they get in office and they turn out to be all hat and no saddle.

Formal Events

Three big things happen each winter: We celebrate the New Year, watch basketball, and go to formal dances. Women understand these events. Many guys, who consider formal dress to mean a tie without a sports team logo, do not.

Aquifer Day is Feb. 8

A Stewarding Our Aquifer Field Day will examine how playas, the under-appreciated natural ephemeral wetlands abundantly dotting the region in a density as great as one per square mile, can play a critical role in the water future of the area. The field day is scheduled for Feb.

Considerations for quitting students

Fewer expressions bring greater disappointment, trepidation and remorse than “I quit.” Vince Lombardi helped create the anxiety of “I quit.” You know the quips: “Winners never quit, and quitters never win.” Or, how about this one “It’s not whether you get knocked down, it is whether you get up.
