Swiftettes defeated by Lady Rebels

The Nazareth Swiftettes fell to the Amarillo Tascosa Lady Rebels on Tuesday, 60-39. The Naz offense shooters came on strong the first quarter, but the Lady Rebels outscored the Swiftettes and gained a lead, 32-20. The second quarter saw no points put on the board by either team.

Swiftettes defeat Lady Falcons, 42-39

The Nazareth Swiftettes came out on top of the Bushland Lady Falcons in a tough game on Tuesday, 42-39. The Lady Falcons stepped up and took charge of scoring early, but the Swiftettes defense battled and the offense put shots up to hold the Bushland lead to 14-10.

Stress Free Holiday event planned for Dec. 7

The Castro County AgriLife Extension will be offering a Stress Free Holidays For Busy Families event on Dec. 7 from Noon to 1 p.m. The lunch and learn series will also be held in Littlefield on Dec. 6 and Dec. 8 in Bovina.

Bobcats edged out by Demons

The Dimmitt Bobcats suffered a tough loss to the Dumas Demons, 89-87, in a nailbiter last Monday. The first quarter was back and forth between the two teams, with both offenses firing away and hitting their mark and putting Dumas up by a single point going into the second quarter.

AgriLife crop seminar set for Dec. 20

The AgriLife Crop Production and Protection Seminar hosted by the TAMU AgriLife Extension Service is set for Dec. 20 at the Castro Extension Office. The program is approved by TDA for five CEUs. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.

Naz, Dimmitt set to play in holiday tourneys

The Naz Swifts and Swiftettes and the Dimmitt Bobcats and Bobbies are scheduled to play in three big tournaments at the end of December. Dimmitt teams will be attending the 63rd Annual Caprock Classic set for Dec. 29-31 in Lubbock, with teams from across Texas and beyond competing.
