Stanton gave young people learning lessons in academia and life
IN YOUNGER YEARS—This classic picture from the southeast corner of what was Hereford High School in 1926 and would in latter years become Stanton Junior High. On the east side, mid-building of the second floor, was the location of Carolyn Waters’ History classroom during the Stanton Junior High years.
The heart-rending for some demolition of old Stanton Junior High, the once Hereford High School, proceeded during the past week, tumbling bricks, mortar, windows and fixtures collapsing into heaps of debris and dust and memories of two segments of community history involving legions of Hereford young people learning lessons not only in academia but in life.
