As of June 8, 2026, there is a temporary lift of the burn ban in Swisher County for supervised controlled burns. The temporary lift is in effect UNTIL 6:00PM ON SATURDAY JUNE 13,2026. Please notify local fire department or Tulia Police Department of intended controlled burns.

Week of June 1, 2026 It was wonderful to have some rain. The evenings at my house this week were wonderful. The wind had died down and the temperature was nice. I just love sitting outside on those days. Where I live, there is very little traffic and so it is peaceful and calm.

Seniors were awarded their endorsement cords. Each endorsement has a different colored cord which are STEM— red, Public Service—green, Business and Industry—purple, Multi-Discipline—blue, and Arts—orange.
