Cobb Wheeler Mote Arena was the site of the Second Annual UTV Barrel Races on Saturday, July 18, 2026. Contestants raced UTVs in a cloverleaf pattern around barrels in the arena. Barrel racing is most commonly associated with horses, but this barrel race was associated with horsepower of the UTVs.

It is almost time to start the 2026-2027 school year. Kress ISD will have 7th Grade Open House on August 6th at 5:30PM in the Kress High School Library to get the 7th graders started. Students and families can tour the school, decorate lockers, fill out registration packets and get schedules.

Tulia VFW Post 1798 and Auxiliary had a hamburger cookout on July 15th under the awning between the American Legion and VFW buildings. The cookout was a fundraising event for the VFW.The evening was great and the turnout was wonderful.

Kress Hi Neighbor Picnic is scheduled for August 1, 2026. Activities included in the Red, White, and Kangaroo Picnic are a parade followed by food trucks, music, and a car show on the school grounds.The parade lineup starts at 6:00PM. The parade will start at 6:30PM in downtown Kress.
