Dimmitt ISD Student Council and Gifted and Talented will be hosting the annual Veterans Day program on Nov. 9.
The program will be held at the Dimmitt Middle School Auditorium and will begin at 5:30 p.m. DHS HOSA aides will be available to assist veterans with wheelchairs and walkers.

The Nazareth Cross Country team, coached by Whitney Bryan, is headed to UIL State XC meet in Round Rock. The girls’ team qualified at Regionals earning third place; Bryson Brockman earned his ticket to state as an individual runner in 14th place. Members of the girls team are Madison Brockman, Chloe Birkenfeld, Kelsie Gunter, Lexi Ramaekers, Mallory Wilhelm, Bridget Osterkamp and Kambri Cleavinger

Bobcats fall to Chieftains

The Dimmitt Bobcats lost a district game to the Friona Chieftains this past Friday, 5621.
Dimmitt came in with the only touchdown in the first quarter on a 5-yard run from QB Jack Lunsford to take a 6-0 lead.

Hart High School runner Aiden Cisneros competed at the District 4-1A cross country meet and placed fourth, advancing him to the Regional meet scheduled for Oct. 23-23.
High School Coaches Day set for Nov. 3

Thanks to the Texas Legislature, Senate Concurrent Resolution 38 was passed by both the House and Senate and has designated the first Friday of November as Texas High School Coaches Day.

Senate Bill 7 falls in line with Gov. Greg Abbott’s call to protect the freedom of Texans, though some business groups have offered criticism.
