On Oct 1, HPWD will launch a new interactive portal for customers requesting water well permit applications and water well registrations. This service should expedite a request for a permit application or well registration at HPWD.

Naz Vet Science at Tri-State

The Nazareth FFA vet science team competed at the Tri-State Fair & Rodeo and came in with a team second place. Grace White was high point overall, with Michael Fulkerson placing seventh and Addie Schulte placing 10th . Harper Johnson also competed with the team.

AG Paxton acquitted, reinstated

Attorney General Ken Paxton was acquitted by a majority vote of the Texas Senate on Saturday of all 16 articles of impeachment.

HPWD lowers tax rate

The High Plains Underground Water Conservation District No. 1 (HPWD) Board of Directors conducted its regular monthly meeting on Sept.12. During the meeting, the board adopted the 2023 ad valorem tax rate of $0.0042 per $100 valuation. The 2023 adopted tax rate is 10.

Swifts defeat Longhorns

The Nazareth Swifts came in with a big win over the Hart Longhorns, 57-8. The Swifts had 17 first downs, 29 rushes for 265 yards, six receptions of 12 passing attempts for 110 yards, three fumbles, two penalties for 15 yards, 20 tackles and three sacks.
