TEA delays release of A-F school ratings

The Texas Education Agency said Tuesday it will delay the release of A-F school ratings for one month. The decision comes as several school districts filed a lawsuit against Education Commissioner Mike Morath over the changes to how A-F ratings are calculated.

Texas law enhances penalty for fentanyl

A new Texas law is enhancing penalties for fentanyl distribution. Under House Bill 6, if a death occurs from a fentanyl overdose, the distributor of the deadly drug can now be charged with murder.
