Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, who is presiding over the impeachment trial of suspended Attorney General Ken Paxton, received $3 million in campaign support last month from a top group campaigning against Paxton’s impeachment.

The Dimmitt City Council appointed Interim Chief Tony Martinez as the Chief of Police for the Dimmitt Police Department (DPD) at their regular meeting on Monday. According to City Manager Daniel Jackson, Chief Martinez has over 16 years of law enforcement experience.

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced today he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations for July, 7.5 percent more than in July 2022.

Doc Render Golf Tourney set for July 22-23

The 2023 Doc Render Golf Tournament will be held on July 22-23 at Dimmitt Recreation. The tournament will be a 2-man scramble with an entry fee of $230 per team or $200 if bringing a golf cart. Sponsorship for the tournament is $430 and includes one team entry.
