We are fortunate to have a Library Advisory Board here at Rhoads Memorial Library who dispenses wise words of wisdom when the occasion calls for it. The five-member board of volunteers is filled by three Dimmitt residents, one Hart resident, and one Nazareth resident.

Castro County 4-H Junior Horse Judging teams had a good run in competition on Friday. Castro County #2 Second Place Team Gracie McLain, Trystan Crow, Reagan Schulte and Blakely Kleman. Castro County #3 Third Place Team - Adalyn Braddock, Steeley Moore, Sawyer Lunsford and Braeli Fuller.

Nazareth FFA Tell Bagley

Nazareth FFA Tell Bagley made it to the next round of interviews in the Texas FFA scholarship process this week. The Texas FFA Association awards more than $1 million in scholarships annually that recognize members’ academic accomplishments as well as participation in FFA programs and activities.

Nazareth FFA Homesite teams

Nazareth FFA Homesite teams took advantage of practice at the state qualifiers invitational contest. The event was hosted by Hamilton FFA and the 4P Game Ranch provided the land. Thirty-two teams with 118 individuals participated.

The Nazareth FFA Horse Judging team

The Nazareth FFA Horse Judging team competed at the state contest held at Texas Tech Equestrian Center on Saturday morning against the best of the best from across the state of Texas (1A-6A). Team members are Iris Schilderink, Kamre Mask, Charly Mask and Tell Bagley.

Castro County 4-H Shooting Sports

Castro County 4-H Shooting Sports competed in the rifl e contest on Saturday, with four intermediates and one senior. Competing were Jack Wanjura, Oren Welps, Oliver Meador, Remington Meador and Miles Nelson. The team is coached by John Wanjura.
