Dimmitt Fire Department was called to the corner of SW 5th and Belsher on Monday morning where a house was engulfed in flames. The house had been vacant since Aug. 29 following a gas leak explosion. Cause of the fire has yet to be determined.

Big Brothers Big Sisters coming to DMS

Big Brothers, Big Sisters (BBBS) of Hereford is planning to help get a BBBS program started at Dimmitt Middle School, with the assistance of Jennifer Sullivan and other staff members. “The Dimmitt [Middle School] program will be brand new,” said Sara Pesina, executive director of BBBS in Hereford.
