Fire in winter storm destroys home

A structure fire at 7:30 p.m. January 24 in the midst of the frigid weather that hit Hereford and much of Texas for several days destroyed the home of Javier and Cristina Macias Armendariz at 300 Kibbe in Hereford.The one story structure was destroyed in the blaze.

Hereford FFA officers and a few seniors enjoyed hosting area fourth graders at the annual Ag in the Classroom January 22 sponsored by Deaf Smith/Oldham County Farm Bureau. Thank you to the students who volunteered and brought animals to teach about the food and fiber that livestock provide.

HISD HOOPS WRAP UP

The Canyon Lady Eagles topped Hereford’s Lady Whitefaces 54-37 Friday early afternoon.The game was played early due to incoming winter weather.Following the girls varsity game the Whitefaces fell 80-41 Brix Machen and Tristen Smith both scored nine points in the loss.
