Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations for June, 6.8 percent more than in June 2023.These allocations are based on sales made in April by businesses that report tax monthly.

Castro County Treasurer Elaine D. Flynt attended the 2024 Conference of the County Investment Academy, hosted by the Texas Association of Counties (TAC), from June 10 to 12 in Dallas County.
DHS Drew Garcia was seriously injured in a car crash last Tuesday and faces numerous surgeries on the road back to recovery. Garcia is a cheerleader at Dimmitt High School.

Tragedy struck Dimmitt again when Dimmitt High School Drew Garcia was in a car crash last Tuesday.The car crash left Garcia critically injured with broken femurs in both legs, several broken ribs and metatarsals, among other injuries.
