DHS holds College Signing Day

Dimmitt High School held its College Signing Day on Thursday. Students, family and faculty joined in the signing as each senior signed on to further their education and pursue their dreams for the future.

Farm Bureau makes donations

Castro County Farm Bureau made donations of $1,125 each to the local Hands of Hope Food Panrty and the DISD Snack Pack 4 Kids Program Castro County Farm Bureau is honored to assist those who are in need of food, as well as those who provide the food.

Swiftette Basketball Camp set

The Nazareth Swiftette Basketball Camp will be held May 24-27. Players will have a chance to improve basketball skills with an emphasis on fundamentals and compete in daily competitions. The camp is for girls entering Kindergarten through 9th grade.

Cemetery Association to hold annual meeting

The Dimmitt Cemetery Association will hold its 2021 Annual Meeting and workday on Memorial Day, May 31 at the cemetery. Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery is located one mile south of Dimmit on FM 3215. Small flags will be available for placing on veteran’s graves. The workday will start at 8 a.m.

State sales tax revenue at $3.4B

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar today said state sales tax revenue totaled $3.4 billion in April, a record-high monthly total and 31.4 percent more than in April 2020.

City Wide Garage Sale set

The Annual City Wide Garage Sale is nearing and will be held on June 5. Sponsored by the Dimmitt Chamber of Commerce, the event will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Forms are available at on the Chamber of Commerce website and also at The Castro County News.
