The State Fair of Texas is tentatively back on the schedule for fall despite the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. The big annual event is set for Sept. 24 through Oct.

USDA NRCS offers assistance for winter storm damage

In response to the winter storms that hit Texas in February 2021, the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is offering farmers and ranchers technical and financial assistance to repair and replace certain damaged conservation practices.

How about that brutal cold and snow last week! Here at Rhoads Memorial Library, the knee-high snow drift was cleared from our front door by a favorite patron and by Gabriel of Castro Co. Courthouse. We usually clear the sidewalk ourselves, but the drift proved a bit much for us.
