Fueled by high wind and dry conditions, wildfires have erupted across the Los Angeles area, destroying hundreds of homes and killing at least 24 people.According to estimates, the insured losses from the fires from last week may exceed $20 billion and economic losses could reach $50 billion.

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations for January, 0.3 percent more than in January 2024.

She was joined by her family, teammates, NISD students, as well as Swiftettes Coach Eric Schilling and Flying Queen Coach Jason Cooper who has led the Wayland team since 2021. Birkenfeld was key team member of the Swiftettes drive to win state in 2022-23.
