Texas is grappling with a major housing shortage and high costs and interests in affordable homes.TexasComptrollerGlennHegar this past August released his agency’s Housing Affordability Challenge report, which examined the factors contributing to the housing affordability crisis across the U.S.

Castro County Farm Bureau hosted their annual County Convention on Oct. 21 at the Castro County Expo Building. Farm Bureau members in attendance were treated to a BBQ meal and door prizes. Election of officers was held and new business for the year discussed. West Texas A&M University’s Horse Judging team notched another victory in a recent contest in Tulsa, Oklahoma.The WT team was named champion and placed first in both halter and performance at the Arabian National Horse Judging Contest on Oct. 25.
