Annual Swift, Swiftette Color Run set for Sat. 10

The Annual Swift/Swiftette Color run will be held on Sept. 10. Both runners and walkers are welcome. T-shirts will be provided if registered by Aug. 27. The cost is $25 for adults and $20 for 18 and under. Children not in school are free but must be registered and pay $8 to get a T-shirt.

Students attending public school percentage down

According to a new poll from Education Next, an education policy publication, found that enrollment in public schools has dropped by 4 percent over the last two years. That 4 percent decline represents nearly 2 million students.

Hart cheerleaders are ready for football season. This year Paisley Reyna Mata, Diana Longoria, Elycia Gonzales, Priscilla Gagnard, Nina Barron, Roylynn Gonzales and Brianna Nalley will bringing spirit to the Longhorn fans.

Griner sentenced to nine years in prison

A Russian court sentenced Brittney Griner to nine years in prison and a $9 million ruple fine ($145,161.36 US) after finding her guilty of bringing cannabis-infused vape cartridges into Russia. Cannabis is illegal in Russia for both medicinal and recreational.

Naz Boy Scouts selling casseroles

The Nazareth Boy Scout Troop #265 will be selling frozen casseroles to help raise money for the opportunity for several of the boys to attend the Philmont Scout Ranch in the summer of 2023.
