Swiftettes trounce Cowgirls, 46-15

The Nazareth Swiftettes defeated the Happy Cowgirls in a district game, 46-15. Nazareth took charge of the net in the first quarter, pushing out ahead of the Cowgirls 16-2.

Swiftettes pound Lady Eagles

The Nazareth Swiftettes claimed an easy win over the Channing Lady Eagles, 98-11. Nazareth jumped out ahead in the first quarter 26-2 and continued to hit from the field and widen their lead in the second quarter, closing the first half out, 52-6.

Swiftettes crush Lady Tornados, 68-19

The Nazareth Swiftettes captured a big victory over the Texline Lady Tornados, 68-19. The Swiftettes jumped out front with a big lead in the first quarter, 25-2, and continued to widen the gap in the second quarter, holding Texline to a mere eight points and closing the first half out ahead, 37-8.

Swiftettes defeat Lady Eagles

The Nazareth Swiftettes were victorious over the Lubbock Christian Lady Eagles, 46-38. The Swiftettes took the lead in the first quarter, 15-9, and continued to advance in the second quarter to close the first half out ahead, 25-15.

Ladyhorns defeat Lady Longhorns, 40-27

The Hart Ladyhorns racked up a third game on a winning streak, beating the Lazbuddie Lady Longhorns, 40-27. Hart also defeated Amherst and Cotton Center as they make a push to clinch a spot in the playoffs.

Castro County AgriLife Extension office released the upcoming schedule for agricultural conferences that will be held in January, February, and March for area producers.

Bobcats defeat Mustangs, 67-49

The Dimmitt Bobcats chalked up another win against the Denver City Mustangs, 67- 49. That puts their record at 6- 7, 3-0. The Bobcats pushed out front with a narrow lead in the first quarter, 12-10, and continued to hold the lead through the second quarter, ending the first half ahead, 28-25.

Bobbies fall to Lady Mustangs

The Dimmitt Bobbies fell to the Denver City Lady Mustangs, 48-37. The Bobbies took the lead in the first quarter 14-9, but Denver City offense kicked into gear in the second quarter, overtaking and passing Dimmitt, to close the first half out leading 25-20.

South Plains College 2020 Fall President’s and Dean’s List

Castro County students were among those named to the South Plains College 2020 Fall Dean’s and President’s List. Danielle Godino, from Dimmitt, was on the President’s List for the Fall semester. She was among 300 other students receiving the honor. To qualify, Godino had to earn a GPA of 4.

Amarillo residents a part of antibody trials

Several Amarillo residents could make a big different in saving people during the early stages of COVID-19. Since August, the Pharmatex research facility has been asking people who have been COVID-19 positive for three days to participate in their double-blind Regeneron antibody trial.
