Ladyhorns fall to Lady Eagles

The Hart Ladyhorns were defeated by the Plainview Christian Academy Lady Eagles, 38-27. The Ladyhorns took the lead in the first quarter, 14-11 and held onto the lead through the second quarter, closing the first half out, 20-16.

Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone and we are fully staffed, (and fully stuffed?) we are busily decorating here at Rhoads Memorial Library for Christmas.

As many of you know, we have four kids. I am not saying all the days were roses and sunshine, but we have finally hit a place where we all love and respect each other. We are as healthy as many families want to be and some are hoping to be someday.

May God be merciful and bless us. May his face shine with favor upon us. Interlude Psalms 67:1 (NLT) We often pray for God to bless me and give me his favor. This is so close to how we should pray, yet it misses the mark by miles. Often, there is too much of me and not enough of we in my prayers.

In today’s culture, peace can be elusive. We are in constant communication with others by phone, text message, or social media. The unceasing claim upon our time by needy individuals can be exhausting. Not to mention the endless stream of bad news from around the world.

Hegar reports $2.98B in November sales tax revenue

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar today said state sales tax revenue totaled $2.98 billion in November, 6.3 percent less than in November 2019. Locally, Castro County sale tax revenue collected was $21,305 compared to last year at $18,558, a 14.80 percent increase.
