It’s something less than a stampede of filings so far in the City Officers Election upcoming May 2.Incumbent Place 6 at-large Commissioner Deven Black is the only candidate to have filed as of January 28, according to City Secretary Franchesca Jimenez.

As the 2025-2026 waterfowl and crane season concludes, it’s hard to imagine, given the fierce competition for choice waterfowl and sandhill crane hunting hotspots in this region, that there is real concern over the declining number of hunters, including waterfowl hunters, in the United States.
