Lubbock reports 295 new C19 cases

The City of Lubbock sent out a press release, reporting 295 new cases of COVID -19. The following is a press release from the City of Lubbock. As of 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27, the City of Lubbock confirmed 295 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), 152 recoveries and four additional deaths.

Texas unemployment rises in September

The Texas unemployment rate rose to 8.3 percent in September, according to the Texas Workforce Commission. The Amarillo Metropolitan Statistical Area had the lowest adjusted rate of 5.1 percent, followed by the College Station-Bryan at 5.5 percent. Abilene recorded the third lowest rate of 5.

C-19 cases still on rise in county

The county has received notification that businesses, offces and other facilities must return to maximum 50 percent occupancy levels in Trauma Service Area B (Lubbock region) due to a rise in COVID-19. The notification was received by Judge Carroll Gerber from John Hellerstedt, M.D.

DISD approves bid for ballpark renovation

The Dimmitt ISD school board met Monday to hear reports and address several action items with two items being tabled. Hellas Construction was the only company to submit a bid on the Dimmitt High School Baseball and Softball Sports Facility renovation and construction project.
